The color-psychological function refers to a series of psychological reactions induced by color stimulation with specific psychological meanings.Color can induce individuals to produce different types of motivation and further influence individual behavior. However, since the research on the psychological function of color is mainly concentrated in foreign countries, although the attention paid to such research has increased in recent years,it is still slightly scarce. The debate about the types and causes of color-induced motivation is on the rise. From the perspective of cultural differences, domestic researchers explained the differences between the conclusions of Chinese participants and Western participants under the same conditions. However,as far as the conclusions of Western studies are concerned, there are also inconsistencies in conclusions.Since motivation plays a mediating role between color and task performance,it is particularly important to explore the causes of color-induced motivations and to determine the type of motivation that is induced. Not only can the color-induced motivation type be clarified, but also the mechanism of the color-induced motivation can be further analyzed to explore the consistency of the color psychological function under the condition of cultural universality. And apply this to explore the applicability of color in life or work. Therefore, this study designed four experiments to explore the types and causes of color-induced(red and blue)motivations, and the resulting differences in mission performance.Experiments 1(a)and 1(b)explore the types of motivation generated by red and blue induced individuals from both explicit and implicit aspects.Experiment 2 uses the detail-directed task task—the number of “e” task—as the dependent variable to explore the causes of color-induced things and their impact on task performance.Experiment 3 explores the feasibility and effectiveness of induced motivational operations by adding task types—creative tasks.Experiment 4 changes the task type and explores whether the motivational operation is feasible and effective in the field of risk decision-making.The experimental data showed that(1)there was no significant difference in the number of words represented by red and blue representing different types of motivation at the explicit level, different color can induce individuals to produce the same motivation.(2)The results of the implicit association test showed that there was no significant difference in the response of the participants to the high-frequency color-motivation(approaching & avoiding)conjunctions, indicating that the same color can induce individuals to generate different motives on the implicit level.(3)The motivation of color-induced participants and the color matching match induce the motivation of the participants, and the impact on the performance of the tasks is consistent, indicating that the color influences the task performance of the participants through themotivation, and the operation of inducing motivation is feasible and induced. The motivation generated can effectively influence the individual's mission performance.(4)The motivation for inducing the participants can influence the decision-making behavior of the participants in the field of risk decision-making,That is,when the individual induces the approaching motivation, the individual is more inclined to take risks for high returns;when the individual is induced to avoid the motivation, the individual tends to avoid losses and prefers to make lower-yielding choices.indicating that the operation of inducing motivation is still effective in the field of risk decision-making.According to the results of this study, the debate about the type of color-induced(Especially red and blue)participant can be well explained, and the type of color-inducing participant can be presented in a more obvious way to make it more intuitive.Through the connection of color and specific words, the subjects are induced to generate specific motivation types, which in turn affects the individual's performance under different task conditions, which provides a new idea for people to use color in the future.
