Modern Chinese (1949-1978) Landscape Painting Research On Reservoir Theme

In the second half of the 20 th century,at the beginning of the founding of new China,a large number of water conservancy projects and reservoir construction were implemented.Due to the needs of political propaganda and the overall social cultural environment,reservoir landscape painting emerged as a new painting subject in a specific historical context.The image origin of the reservoir landscape painting can be traced back to the ancient water control image in history,and there are many similarities and differences with the ancient traditional landscape painting.From the perspective of ideology,the reservoir landscape painting has not only the traditional people-oriented thought,but also the passion of the new society to transform nature and man to conquer nature.From the perspective of painting innovation,the composition,perspective,color and description of the objects of reservoir landscape painting are not completely inherited from traditional landscape painting.Instead,new techniques are applied in combination with the real landscape to explore new painting language and visual style on the basis of traditional landscape painting.At the same time,under the special political and cultural environment from the 1950 s to the 1970 s,the creation of reservoir landscape paintings reflected the relevant artistic ideas and political choices of a group of Chinese painters.
