Irie Nanmei was a Confucianist and a Sinologist in the middle Edo period.He studied under the Japanese Sinologist who called ‘Ogyu Sorai'.He was active in the research on dissemination of Tang Poems and creation of kanshi."The Tang Poetry Annotation" is the academic result of the study of Tang Poetry.This thesis takes the quatrain part of "Tang Poetry Annotation"(hereinafter called as "Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation")as the research object,from the editing background and motivation of the "Tang Poetry Annotation",where the poems and notes selected from,aesthetic orientation and theoretical characteristics of "Tang Poetry Annotation",Irie Nanmei's Tang poetry sight and kanshi creation,and the literary value and cultural significance of the "Tang Poetry Annotation".The specific chapters are described as follows:The first chapter introduces the life and sinological achievements of Irie Nanmei: Irie Nanmei as a Sinologist in the middle Edo period,he actively participated in the popularization of Tang poetry.His outstanding literary contribution lies not only in the a large number of kanshi creation,but also in the establishment of the Tang poetry model by compiling the "Tang Poetry Annotation".The second chapter analyzes the the editing background and motivation of the "Tang Poetry Annotation" : Through systematically understanding the Tang poetry's acceptance in Japan to inspect its editing background.The motivation of editing Tang poetry selection was gave birth under the influence of three factors.They're the background of the times,the atmosphere of the poetry and the origin of the teacher.The current status of Tang poetry selection has made him research and exploration in a targeted manner.The third chapter seeks where the poems and notes in "Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation" selected from: To make sure where the poems and notes in "Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation" selected from is the first step in analyzing the aesthetic orientation and theoretical characteristics of Irie Nanmei."Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation" uses "Tang Poetry Interpretation" as the source to select poetry.The poems that have been modified and revised can reflect his literary tendencies from the side.While the revision and correct about the notes can showed the theoretical characteristics visually.The fourth chapter analyzes the aesthetic orientation and theoretical characteristics of the "Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation" : Irie Nanmei studied under Ogyu Sorai,so he was deeply influenced by Xuanyuan's literary proposition,which is reflected in the " Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation " by the aesthetic orientation of the choice on the flourishing Tang Dynasty poems.Under the tradition which called "Mono no aware" in Japanese literature,he formed the poetry proposition that the foundation of poetry is emotion.The fifth chapter analyzes Irie Nanmei's Tang poetry sight and kanshi creation: By summing the artistic features of quatrains in his collected works and combining with the aesthetic characteristics of "Tang Poetry Quatrain Annotation ",we should know about that his kanshi creation not only preserved the nation Culture,but also mixed the art of the quatrain in Tang dynasty.His poetry style is fresh and clear.Its theme is close to life and the expression of emotion is emphasized.The conclusion part summarizes the literary value and cultural significance of "Tang Poetry Annotation" : Its literary value is reflected in the acceptance of Tang poetry in Japan.Its cultural significance is that "Tang Poetry Annotation" has both Chinese and Japanese traditions and it is a crystallization of cultural exchange.
