| This paper mainly discusses the cause,meaning and impact of poetic education concept in Zhenguan period,which consists of two parts:introduction and text.The introduction mainly investigates the research status of the poetic education concept in Zhenguan period,in order to explain the research significance of this paper.The text consists of three parts:the background of the revival of Zhenguan’s poetic education concept,emperor Taizong and his subjects’concept of poetic education reflected in their understanding on literature,and the influence of the concept of poetic education on Zhenguan’s poetic world.The details are as follows:The first chapter describes the meaning of poetic education concept and teases its background in Zhenguan period.Poetry and music,coming from the interaction between spirits and object,communicate with politics,education and ethics.Therefore,it can influence politics,cultivate new generations and educate the masses.Confucianism was revered by the rulers of every dynasty.As a result,poetic education concept has always been the orthodox theory of ancient Chinese literature,which closely associated with the political indoctrination activities of each dynasty.For example,litterateur of Han Dynasty interpreted The Book of Songs by praising and satirizing,they used its verses to remonstrate.In Jin Dynasty,poetic education concept excluded satirize,emphasis on the praise function of poetry.In the Northern and Southern Dynasties,litterateur proposed that literature originated from the Confucian classics.Among Zhenguan period,Taizong continued the poetic education activities of the previous dynasties.He implemented Confucian ideal politics called"Wende",hoping to educate the masses to change the customs.And these measures created a good political and cultural atmosphere for the rise of poetic education in literature.The second chapter mainly talks about the poetic education concept of Taizong and his ministers by studying their understanding of literature.Taizong and his ministers’literary views make a coincidence of the poetic education theory.As a ruler and litterateur,Taizong put his governance conception such as self-discipline and containment into the thinking on literature.He tended to standardize literature from its form and content,and then advocated an elegant style of writing.Ministers of Taizong were bound to evaluate literati by morality out of remonstrating and compiling historical records.The explained writing poetry by using poetry,which not only insists traditional idea that literature originated from the Confucian classics and had to be useful,but also correctly understand and unify the function of politics and religion and lyrical function of literature.The third chapter summarizes the influence of the poetic education concept on the literary conception and creative practice in Zhenguan period.Ministers of Taizong took the traditional poetic education thought as the starting point and standpoint in order to harmonize the different writing styles of northern and southern literature.Kong Yingda absorbed the interpretation of Bi and Xing in Confucian classics.He elucidated Xing by metaphor,and put forward using image to display Xing,which expands the forms of expression in literature.Ministers of Taizong not only pointed out the direction for the development of literature in theory,but also consciously created poetry under the guidance of the idea of poetic education concept.Under the influence of poetic education concept,the poetry creation in Zhenguan period showed a dignified and elegant style.Historical poems advocated plain.Poetry on objects tended to pour one’s heart instead of depicting the object simply.Imperially assigned poem utilized magnificent scene to praise benevolent government.Therefore,poetic education concept is not only a useful attempt but also a solid foundation for the coming of the prosperous tang poetry. |
