Research On The Thoughts Of Simeng Lixue

In the system of Confucianism,zi si and mencius are two unsurmountable milestones.Through their expansion and evolution,the external ritual system since the western zhou dynasty has completed the internalization process,which had a great impact on the later generation of neo-confucianism.Not only that,the ceremony of internalization initiated by them has been integrated into the blood of the Chinese nation and become the collective unconsciousness of the whole nation after the elaboration of neo-confucianism in the song and Ming dynasties.Therefore,the author intends to analyze the inheritance and change of their thoughts on rites from three perspectives,namely,the concept of destiny,the theory of temperament and the interpretation of rites,so as to better grasp the inheritance relationship between them.The concept of destiny is the background of the thought of mencius and the common thinking consciousness of people at that time.The theory of temperament is the object and basis of their thoughts on rites.It is no exaggeration to say that they are in the interpretation of the rites of fate,temperament theory of the figure.Therefore,the author thinks that it is very necessary to sort out the view of destiny and the theory of temperament.Both simeng and mencius were influenced by the historical tradition of the western zhou dynasty.Mencius' heaven sometimes had the duality of righteousness,rationality and religion,and he also wanted to restore the lost authority of heaven,which he did not have.It can be said that mencius made a pioneering extension of his thought on heaven.In the theory of temperament,mencius put forward the theory of the goodness of nature,but he did not take a position on it,which shows that mencius explored the thought of nature.In the interpretation of rites,they all believe that everyone should achieve self—transcendence in the interaction between inner morality and external ethics.They all attach great importance to thecultivation of etiquette.Zi si focuses on the guidance of rites and music for the people,and he attaches great importance to ancient music.Mencius further developed the thought of zi si in combination with the environment of The Times.Not only that,meng also advocated that if the people on the etiquette of education will be the property of the people,so that the people have perseverance.It can be said that on the basis of zi si,mencius internalized,moralized and lived li.In short,the author believes that the relationship between si and meng is the change of inheritance and the development of new ideas.The system of thinking and mencius is of inestimable value to the formation of the Chinese ethical society.
