This thesis is an English to Chinese simultaneous interpretation practice report, based on the subtitle of the documentary Wild China, jointly broadcast by BBC and CCTV in 2011.The writer selects the last three episodes of Wild China as the main materials, and analyzes several types of problems that the writer encountered in simultaneous interpretation of the documentary which is full of literary language,as well as the strategies that are used under the guidance of the syntactic linearity. The writer first introduces the pre-interpretation preparation stage, describes the preparation work in each stage in detail, and lists some professional vocabulary in Appendix part when doing preparation work. The writer then makes analysis and comparison on the sentences which use the syntactic linearity strategies including segmentation, waiting, transform and anti-speaking,and analyzes the difficulties encountered in interpreting these sentences. This English to Chinese simultaneous interpretation practice lasted about three hours.Through this interpretation practice, task review and case analysis, the writer finds out that: 1.The pre-interpretation preparation process is crucial.Whether it is sufficient determines its flexibility to deal with the on-the-spot problems, and it benefits the interpreter's self-confidence.2.Using syntactic linearity makes it closer to life when doing the simultaneous interpretation of the documentary which is full of literary language.
