A Study On The Narrative Perspective Of Character Documentaries

The core of the documentary is the story of “people.” The documentary about people focuses on the experience of the person,the state of existence,the fate of life,the characteristics of individuals or groups,and the different life landscapes.Whether it is the description of the micro-personal space or the refraction of the macro-human common space,the documentary of the person conveys the beauty of life in the “human”.From the beginning,the documentary creation used the “Grierson-style” documentary creation mode,to the “Direct Cinema” documentary genre that advocated the disappearance of the creator’s traces,and then to the “ Truthful Cinema ”documentary creation genre that advocated the creator’s presence,narrative perspective also changes with the changes in documentary creation patterns and creative ideas.The term “narrative perspective” indicates the starting point of storytelling and is a theoretical focus in narratology.The choice of perspective has a great influence on the narrative of the work.The narrative perspective as a narrative perspective and the establishment of a narrative perspective runs through the narrative process of the story.In the character documentary,the narrative perspective can participate in the pre-planning,mid-term shooting,and post-editing of the creation.The narrative perspective has a very important influence on the creation of the documentary.This thesis uses five parts to study.The first chapter mainly defines the concept of “documentary about people” and “narrative perspective”.It defines and recognizes these two concepts through the related theories of film linguistics and narratology,and discusses narrative in general.The impact of perspective on the person’s documentary.In this chapter,the author proposes the concept of “ documentary about people ” and the classification method of “ narrative perspective ” by reviewing the previous researches on “ documentary about people ” and “ narrative perspective ”.In the second chapter,the author analyzes the important role of narrative perspective in shaping the characters and shaping the conflicts of characters.Characters are multi-faceted,and narrative perspective is an important means of shaping characters.The character documentary should shape the three-dimensional characters.In this chapter,the role of the perspective in the character documentary is discussed from the four aspects of the inner image,external image,internal conflict and external conflict.In the third chapter,the author analyzes the specific application of narrative perspective in the character documentary from the aspects of pre-planning,medium-term shooting and post-editing.The creative application of the narrative perspective in the character documentary is the focus of this paper.In this chapter,the creative points of creation consciousness,creation mode,lens language and editing skills under the influence of narrative perspective are discussed in detail,and the different creative methods adopted by the documentary works of different narrative perspectives are discussed.In the fourth chapter,the author combines his own creative experience,expounds the creative process of graduation works,and analyzes the use of narrative perspectives in the process of graduation work creation.Finally,the contents of this study are analyzed and summarized,and the problems and deficiencies in this research are also presented.Based on the theory of narratology,the theory of documentary history and the theory of documentary creation,this study combines the works of many outstanding Chinese and foreign documentaries and the author’s own creative experience to study the narrative perspective.This study focuses on the creation of documentaries and analyzes the important role of narrative perspectives in the creation of documentaries.I hope that through the author’s creative research and aesthetic speculation on the narrative p perspective in the documentary,the creators of the documentary film will pay attention to the use of the narrative perspective in the creative process.
