Text linguistics is a branch of linguistics.The main contents of the study are how the sections of the chapter are organized,the correlations of them,and the means to connect every chapters to be a meaningful whole.Cohesion,as an important means of constructing a discourse,is an important prerequisite for linguists to explore the regularity of text linguistics.The alleged form is one of the most important means of cohesion which is generally divided into three types,namely,the person’s allegation,the indication of the allegation and the comparison.Among them,there are only the third-person pronouns in the person’s allegation have the inherent functions of connecting chapters.Firstly,the paper discourse cohesive devices from two aspects of grammatical cohesive devices and lexical cohesive devices,defines the concept of third-person pronouns in Japanese and Chinese,and points out that the “コソア” series of demonstrative pronouns are also included in the discourse;Secondly,based on the novel of Dongye Guiwu’s White Night and Liu Zijun’s Chinese translation,the paper compares the usage of the third-person pronouns between the original text and the translation,and summarizes the similarities and differences of the cohesive function of the third-person pronouns in Japanese and Chinese.Finally,the paper discusses the internal mechanism of the differences in terms of the structure,stylistic factors and cultural attributes of the allegation system.
