Hans Ludwig William Bremen is a German composer and pianist in the 20 th century.He created a large number of works for many genres in his life.He wrote numerous accordion pieces in his later works,which had become an important part of his musical creation and had a significant impact on the development of accordion pieces.He combined traditional techniques with modern composition techniques,pursuing more expressive sounds,and fully utilized the characteristics of the accordion,which gave the works more tone power.Divertimento is created by Bremen in 1956,which is especially composed for accordion in his mature period of creation.The piece of work reflects his creation style and characteristics in his later period.He integrated traditional techniques with modern harmony and rhythm,which produces a rich sound.I have a thorough understanding of Divertimento by learning to play the work.This paper deeply discusses the creation background,music structure,harmony system,rhythm and beat of the work,i.e.Divertimento,and makes explanation of the involved techniques of accordion playing.I hope that,through analysis,I can find out more creative artistic characteristics and values of Divertimento and learn about Bremen's composition style of combining tradition with modern techniques.
