Being,as the core content of the metaphysical concept, has been discussed by various philosophers since ancient Greece. And the being theories of Aquinas which interpreted by Gilson can be said to be very representative in the history of being. The mystery of the concept of medieval being lays a solid and profound metaphysical foundation for the medieval scholastic creation theory, philosophy, cosmology, anthropology, personality theory, epistemology, liberalism, ethics and historical philosophy. This article will introduce and discuss Aquinas' s view of being which based on Gilson's Being and some Philosophers and The Christian Philosophy of St.Thomas Aquinas. This article will be divided into three parts, the first part gives a brief introduction to the being theories of the representative philosophers of various eras before Gilson to explore the construction process of Gilson's view of being. The second part will explain the being theories of Aquinas from two parts which based on the text of Gilson. One is Thomas' s transformation of Aristotle's theory of substance.Thomas' s being doctrine thinks that being itself as the action of existence is the first principle of metaphysics. To a certain extent, this conclusion can be said that the theory of realism abandon to the ideational theory in the history of European philosophy. In this sense,Gilson's understanding Thomas' s being theories as a revolution in the history of metaphysics can be said to be an appropriate maluation. The other is that in the proof of the existence of God.The prove of influences acquired which Thomas' s assertion start from the truth of experiential observation to trace back to the reason of transcendental. Here we can see the reflection of theology is opened with the interpretation of philosophy, and the standpoint of philosophy does not lose its foundation because of faith.Gilson use this to illustrate that every philosophical part of Thomism is true and being theory.Gilson's theory of being has a positive impact both on the development and on the reform of Neo-Thomism,but this theory still has certain limitations and needs to have a further discussion.
