Hermes is the youngest of the twelve gods of Olympus. As the god of the gods, the flying cap on his head, the twin snakes in his hand, and the flying boots under his feet become his symbol..He was born in the cold but he became one of the main gods by his own wisdom. His success not only promoted his status but also empowered those who worship him to strive for the upper reaches.Although Hermes is not as noble as Zeus,Apollo and other male gods,he does often appear in mythological stories,so the Renaissance mythological paintings often appear in his image.Iconography is an extremely effective method of art history research. This paper uses the three-level principle of Pannowski's iconography and the principle of Gombrich's image correction to analyze art works from the standpoint of humanism,in the original code, philosophy, and society. The background, the artist's personal situation and other aspects try to interpret the iconography of Hermes in the Renaissance artist. This paper is divided into four parts.First, the language is pulled back to the early Greek society to worship the god Hermes, and the evolution of the image of Hermes from the ancient to the Renaissance.Secondly, the original analysis of the image of Hermes, the story of the ancient Greek and Roman mythology "Homer's Epic","God" and other original texts are listed and analyzed to obtain a complete character image.Once again, explore the image of Hermes in the famous Renaissance painters, such as the melancholy and elegant image in Botticelli's "Spring",and the image of humanity and radiance in Giovanni Bellini's "The Feast of the Gods" The image of the rise of Renaissance education in Correggio's "The Education of Hermes" and the image of Hermes, which appeared many times in Rubens' s "The Trial of Paris",through the artist depicting the fullness of Hermes The artistic image also understands the true art of the artist through the mythological image. Finally, this paper breaks through the limitations of tradition, loops up the research of imagery and the study of corrections, and interprets this image from the image of Hermes,in the bound Prometheus and Aesop's Fables. The interpretation of the rebellious nature behind Hermes, further in line with the principles of iconography correction. It puts forward the situation and thinking of the mythological paintings, pursues the fusion of the ideal spirit and the concept of the times in the mythological theme, and further illustrates the reshaping and re-recognition of classical factors in the modern context.Based on Pannowski's theory of iconography and Gombrich's further revision theory, this article takes the content analysis as the starting point and further explores the works of mythology in the Renaissance under the original Greek knowledge of ancient Greek and Roman mythology. The iconography of Hermes is a multi-angle analysis of the artistic features and spiritual connotations of this image.
