Research On The Inheritance Of Folk Art In The Village Context

Qugou Taige is a representative folk art inherited in Qugou Town,Anyang City,Henan Province.In the village context,the ritual performance of Taige organized by the joint villages,which takes the form of parade around the village,plays the function of bringing good luck,eliminating evil,worshiping gods and entertaining people,and marking the cultural boundary of villages.With the development of modern society,based on the traditional parade ceremony in the village,the local villagers have also taken Taige outside to perform.Qugou Taige begin to go out of village,and is showed to the public in the form of cultural performance.The change from the village ritual performance to the cultural performance performed elsewhere is the self-adjustment and survival choice made by Qugou Taige which is inherited in modern society.The introduction shows the research background and significance of this topic,reviews relevant academic research at home and abroad,and explains research theories,methods and important concepts involved in this paper.Chapter one is based on the village fieldwork to describe the village environment where Qugou Taige is located,including natural and social environment,as well as the historical changes of villages.It also expounds the origin and historical development of Qugou Taige.Understanding the geographical environment and historical background of the inheritance of Qugou Taige is the premise and foundation of this paper to deep study.Chapter two focuses on the ritual performance of Qugou Taige as a performance text.In the village context,the Taige parade organized by the Geshe is a ritual performance jointly participated by Qugou village and Nanqugou village,which is both sacred and secular.Constructing a clearer picture of folk art will help to have a holistic cognition of Qugou Taige.Chapter three explains the cultural function of the ritual performance of Taige in the village context.Whatever the function is,it comes from the needs of people’s life,and embodies people’s feelings and wishes for gods,themselves and the village community.These folk cultural functions are the important reasons why Qugou Taige can be inherited to this day.Chapter four focuses on the current situation of inheritance and development of Qugou Taige in the village and outside the village under the background of social change.In modern society,Qugou Taige has gradually developed from a village folk custom into a public culture for the public,and has obtained the opportunity of inheritance and development by the cultural identity of intangible cultural heritage.
