Buddhist decorative patterns are an important part of Buddhist architecture,representing the intrinsic cultural features of Buddhism.It is treasures that studies local people and the natural environment,religious beliefs,and national spiritThis paper begins with a discussion of the Southern theravada Buddhism,then introduces the layout of the South-bound Buddhist temples which is in the background of the Southern theravada Buddhism.After full investigation,it was discovered that the main Buddhist temples of the Southern theravada Buddhism were mainly distributed In Dehong town,Lincang town,Baoshan town in the western Yunnan and Puer town and Xishuangbanna town in the southwestern Yunnan,which all have distinctive regional features.Several well-preserved Buddhist temples in the South-bound Buddha Temple were selected as starting points and investigation sites.I found that the Buddhist decoration patterns of the region of Southern theravada Buddhism in Yunnan province were divided into architectural decoration patterns that incorporate Chinese culture and architectural decoration patterns and integrate Southeast Asian culture.Comparing with photos and statistic,the classification of the theme of all kinds of architectural pattern decoration,explaining the problems of matching and matching of decorative patterns from different sources,exploring the historical origin of the harmonious coexistence and harmonious development of a variety of decorative pattern cultures,and analyzing the reasons for the harmonious coexistence of various cultural decorative patterns through historical sources.Through the comparative analysis of its different source ornamentation,the decorative patterns of Buddhist temples in the South Temple of the South of Yunnan Province are divided into two categories according to the “Fusion of Southeast Asian Culture” and the “Han Culture” decorative patterns.Under these two categories,the patterns are divided into animal patterns and plants patterns,characters patterns,and Buddha story patterns.revealing the connotations of the patterns in various culturalsystems,discussing the factors that lead to the development of different sources of decorative patterns and the influence of Southeast Asian culture and Chinese culture contained in the decorative pattern of the Buddhist temple.
