Bashu Scholars And Literature In Tang Dynasty

This thesis probes into the interaction between the personality characteristics of the Chin-Shih Group in the Tang Dynasty and the regional culture,and analyzes the ideological content and artistic style of the Chin-Shih Group literary creation under the comprehensive influence of the unique geographical condition.It takes the Tang Dynasty as the time node,uses the region of Bashu as the geographical category,treats the Chin-Shih Group,especially the Chin-Shih literati as the research target.The paper is placed under the cultural background of the Tang Dynasty and the regional view,and under methods of the theory of human-land relations and the mutual recognition of literature and history,comparison,induction,measurement analysis and so on.The first chapter is the analysis of the BaShu area and the distribution of Chin-Shih in the Tang Dynasty.The first is to define the scope of the region,among the fifteen roads divided in the period of Kaiyuan of Xuanzong,the region of Bashu is broadly divided into Jiannan Road,Qianzhong Road,Shannan West Road and Shannan East Road.Houjiannan Road locates between the east and west rivers.And the main range is represented by the three rivers of Jiannan-Jiannan East River,Jiannan West River and Shannan West Road named river.The second is to the Tang Dynasty Bashu Jinshi textual research,there exist thirty-one Chin-Shih for research in the paper by the displaying of investigation of the relevant ancient books and records at large:Li Yifu,Chen Gai,Chen Ziang,Fan Chongkai,Xian Yuxiang,Chen Guang,Chen Fei,Yan Shen,Pu Xiucai,Liu Wan,Su Huan,Yan Shou,Zhong Ziling,Wei Hongjian,Yan Gongbi,Yin Shu,Ban Su,Zhang Jiuzong,Wei Biaowei,Yin Ji,Ren Wan,Ren Chou,Li Yu,Chen Hui,Li Yuan,Yong Tao,Liu Tang,Cheng He,Luo Gun,Chen Yong and Liang Zhen.Through the analysis of the scholar distribution in time and space,it is not hard to find that the number of Chin-Shih shows a change from increasing to decreasing and the distribution range expands in the later period of the Tang Dynasty,which presents an unbalanced distribution centered on Yizhou and Zizhou as a whole.In the end,The elements of the generation of the Bashu Chin-Shih in the Tang Dynasty will be studied in the thesis.The three negative factors are generally policies,transportation and education.For these who live in southwest China with a traffic congestion and a backward education circumstance hold an inferior position in scholar admission.As a result,to study a scholar is a hard task for the Bashu Shizi.However,from the research of the thirty one Bashu Chin-Shih in Tang,readers can easily find that they have a good advantage in terms of family background,geographical transportation and political reliance.This is a major factor in promoting the formation of the Chin-Shih.The second chapter is about the regional characteristics of BaShu and the character analysis of Chin-Shih Group.The environment and characteristics of the region of BaShu,it lies in the southwest and the climate is warm and humid,besides,the terrain is complex and changeable,and then the Yizhou basin-centered centripetal style is formed.On the other hand,under the stable,self-sufficient and open-communicated regional characteristics of the political situation,the people with Bashu style are noted.The regional atmosphere of amusement,song and dance pursuit,wedding feast promotion,and fan-god-witch,presents a kind of fun-loving,idle,self-sufficient,non-respectful ritual,rebellious and unsophisticated,straightforward,savvy and romantic personality.With the influence of such a big environment,the Bashu Chin-Shih Group develop character traits featuring in three aspects:chivalrousness,fame and affection.Chivalrousness manifests from freedom,unrestrained in manners,gratefulness,to difference.The pursuit of fame includes clever,eager to learn,outstanding literary talent,and meritorious deeds,never give up,not to fame and fortune,favoring politics and benefiting the people,loyalty,straightforwardness and enthusiasm.And affection mainly represents idle,enjoyable entertainment,talent contemplating,playing by heart.The third chapter is the study of the literature of the Bashu Chin-Shih in the Tang Dynasty,When the creations of the Bashu Chin-Shih in the Tang Dynasty come into the counting stage,it is occurred that most of their works have been lost.The most retained works today are literary works represented by poetry and lyrics,lyrics are only seen among individual scholars,but almost all of them are involved in poetry creation,and they are included in Tang Poems.Because of its coverage and representativeness,taking poetry as an example to analyze the situation of the literary creation of the Bashu Chin-Shih in the Tang Dynasty,it is summarized that the content is mainly divided into three aspects:the landscape title,the friend’s singing,and the mysticism.In addition,there is also the real portray of the people’s livelihood and the works of ancient antiquities.By the analysis of friends’ singing poems,it is found that most of Bashu Chin-Shih who make friends with are like the literary celebrity as Li Bai and Du Fu.The main idea of those is basically to express affection and miss for his hometown,admiration and contact with his friends,and longing for and pursuit of Sendoh.Analyzing the poetry creations by Bashu Chin-Shih in Tang,the three art styles with the main characteristics of romance,retro,and nature are presented as a whole.Romance is manifested in the subjective lyricism with sentimental,with the use of analogy and metaphorical techniques,the introduction of tales of legendia,and the use of strange and rich imagination.Retro is reflected in the literary assertion against Qiliang Yufeng-inflated writing style,and the genre formally consists of five ancient poems.The content of poetry mainly revolves around gentleness and integrity,and sage elegance.Besides,the poetry of the Bashu Chin-Shih also exhibits a natural art style characterized by plain lyricism,natural imagery,and plain language.To have a study of the formation of such a style of art,the focus can mainly put on geographical factors with the methods of analyzing the cultural integration,literary tradition,literary history,and literary style formed in the unique regional environment in that region.In a word,under the unique geographical edification in the Tang Dynasty,Bashu Chin-Shih develop a temperament with bold and unrestrained,although it is different from the image of a typical Confucian orthodox literati,but it tends to be rebellious in a certain degree.In a way,the style is in line with the Phenomenon of Prosperous Tang Dynasty.As the old saying goes" like author,like book",the poetry created under such temperament is generally closer to the style of the prosperous Tang Dynasty.Although the Chin-Shih Group works has rarely been circulated,the influence of literary classics and their characteristics represented by Chen Ziang is Profound and non replacement.At least,in the local cultural history of Bashu,this group occupies an important position.
