The two versions of Red Bean Song,one written by Liu Xuean,the other by Wan g Liping,are the most popular versions in contemporary society.The paper aims to di splay a comprehensive theoretical system of the two versions in terms of creation,mel ody,and performance by analyzing the discrepancies in following aspects: creative ba ckground,the style of melody,the combination of music and poems and the detailed p rocess in singing.The author has conducted deep studies about the two works with the help of personal experience of singing and performance.In this way,the author obtai ns the knowledge of the relative artistic characteristics of the two works and now,wit h the sharing of the distinct features of the two versions,the author hopes that more an d more singing learners could gain the basic understanding of the Wang's version and experience the artistic charm of the two poem-songs with different styles so as to have a better apprehension of the affections and emotions of the two works during the cour se of learning them.
