In recent years,"diaspora" has had an ambiguous relationship with cultural studies and post-colonial studies.Diaspora studies has also been widely used in overseas Chinese literature studies.Wang Dingjun is a famous overseas Chinese literary writter.,for the diaspora studies provides Wang 's writing with futher perspective,I decided to study Wang Dingjun's diaspora writing. From 1949 to 1978 in Taiwan,Wang Dingjun was a cultural official of the Kuomintang authorities. He worked for "China Times" newspaper and some other official magazine agency that belongs to the Kuomintang's official system.Because of his identity as a literary official and his proximity to liberalism,he suffered the threat of "white terror"caused by the authorities. Thus, while he was writing in Taiwan,he was often subject to self-censorship in his writing. After going to the United States, due to the replacement of literature field,Wang 's writing is no longer interfered by external censorship. His writing can get rid of some factors that restrain his artistic accomplishments. For example, his writing involves the psychological and physical trauma brought by Anti-Japanese War.and civil war,the ruthless interference of the white terror of the Kuomintang against his daily life, and the long-standing puzzle of Christian faith. While these contents were not involved in his writing in Taiwan, his writing began to touch these contents when he arrived in the United States. In comparison to Taiwan,he 's writing in the United States have such rich content. Therefore, his diaspora writing deserves our further attention and exploration. At present,China still lacks the research results of Wang Dingjun's prose in the perspective of diaspora criticism. After leaving Taiwan to the United States,Wang lived in what Homi K.Bhabha called " the third cultura space".he began to write the traumas brought by wars,"white horrors",and Christian puzzle caused by these traumas in the past half a century.Studying his retrospection of his life history in his later years, and the activation and refutation of Christian,Buddhist, and Confucian cultures in an overseas Chinese writer, does not only make sense for Wang's research, but also deserves how overseas Chinese writers resolve their cultura suffering in foreign lands.Combining the contents of Wang's diaspora writing and existing research results, the paper is divided into four chapters. The first three chapters are divided into topics to discuss the themes of trauma,Christian puzzle, and literature geography of Wang 's diaspora writing. The first chapter is divided into two sections:war trauma and "white horror" trauma. The second chapter focuses on Wang's Christian faith puzzle and how he absorbed various cultural resources to cure the inner conflicts of life. The third chapter discusses the memories of his hometown and the integration of new immigrant life in the United States. The fourth chapter discusses the cultural value of Wang's diaspora writing from two perspectives:the memory of witness and the reverberation of traditional intellectual spirit.
