A Study On The "Body Of The Strong Woman" In The Joseon Dynast

Confucianism had been considered as the fundamental ideology since the establishment of the Joseon Dynasty.To advocate the Confucian ideology,a variety of laws and policies were enacted accompanied by the compilation of Confucianism.After Imjin War and Byungja War,scholars and the nobility were even more actively engaged in the propagation of Confucianism,trying to restore the social order that collapsed during the war.If loyalty and filia were regarded as male virtues,then 'yeol' should be the cardinal virtue of women.Therefore,this study focuses on the 'Yeollyeojeon(???)' in the Joseon Dynasty and aims to figure out the features and change of 'Yeollyeojeon' during this period by analyzing 83 articles collected by Yi Hyesun and Kim Gyeong-mi's Yeollyeojeon of Korea(?????).The Joseon Dynasty,which was studied,could be divided into three different stages(electronic,medium and late),and the images of Yeollyeo are displayed according to the historical background,the type and shape of the route,and narrative style.The 'Yeollyeojeon' in the earlier period of the Joseon Dynasty had not been deeply affected by Confucian literature and still kept the style during Goryeo Dynasty.It demonstrated the traditional images of ladies and girls of 'Sujeolhyeong'.The classic story of Julsahyeong also highlighted the feminine loyalty and sincerity beside one's"passion" toward her husband.In terms of structure,the 'Yeollyeojeon' of the early Joseon Kingdom was mainly modeled after the Historical Records(??)system,which features in the 'Jeonggyeok Yeollyeojeon(?????)' with 4 paragraphs.In the mid-Joseon Dynasty,a series of'Yeollyeojeon'were based on the background of Imjin War and Byungja War.Additionally,the structure of 'Yeollyeojeon' changed,from the 'Chukso Byeongyeok(?????)' with 3 paragraphs to the 'Hwakdae Byeongyeok(?????)' with 5 paragraphs.In general,the 'Yeollyeojeon' in the mid-Joseon Dynasty was still in a basic form of less narration in different paragraphs,more events-centered and more positive comments towards havoir by the writers.The latter part of the Joseon Dynasty was divided into the prime and decline periods for in-depth analysis according to the development process of the 'Yeollyeojeon'.After the Imjin War and Byungja War,until the 18th century,Confucian ideology developed quickly and more articles of 'Yeollyeojeon' came out,so this period is known as the prime of'golden days'.The epic style of literary works was extended to Heonsinhyeong,Mohaehyeong,and Boksuhyeong in this period was more likely created as a tribute to the royal family and the revival of the family to reveal stronger personal colors,while the previous period focused on the positive comments towards behavior.The emergence of critical views on the 'Yeollyeo system' from the mid to late 18th century is significant in literature,too.As for the structure of work,the composition began to expand after the war and later on,with the insertion of fictional illustrations,the form of 'Jeon(?)' was destroyed and gradually transformed into a fictional painting.In the 19th century,the academic custom of ShilsagushI to criticize feudal Confucianism,along with modern Western ideas,began to criticize the 'Yeollyeojeon',and hence marked the decline of the 'decay days'.The tapes has decreased from 6 to 4,and the number of paintings has decreased drastically.Furthermore,as the deification of the byeolsing of the byeolsination developed,the character of 'mixed composition' gradually changed into a fictional painting.As for the significance of the 'Yeollyeojeon' is social impact lies in the influence on women.These were written by scholar-bureaucrats to educate women with Confucianism,which contained their expectation towards women.And the popularity of work was closely related to the declining status of women.The real images of Yeollyeo also changed along with the historical background.The significance of 'Yeollyeojeon' in cultural history lies in two aspects.For one thing,the emergence of critical awareness towards the problems and defects existed in'Yeollyeo system' reveals the progress in ideology.For another,it witnesses the evolution of 'Yeollyeojeon' to fiction.In fact,from the beginning of the 19th century,the reform movement led by-the public brought about new forms in literature-and art,among which fiction is the most representative.Therefore,it is in conformity with the requirements of times that 'Yeollyeojeon' will transform into a more interesting and more vivid form according to the need of the public.
