Emotion,as a kind of psychological process,is a positive or negative experience produced by whether or not objective world meets the needs and aspirations of a person’s expect,thus leading to an approaching or evasive behavioral response of human.Young children’s emotional ability refers to the ability of children to recognize and understand their own emotions and others’ emotions,and to adjust,control,and properly express emotions on the basis of this,which is mainly composed of three dimensions:emotion recognition and expression,emotion understanding,and emotion regulation.As a core element of non-intelligence factors,young children’s emotional ability has a very important significance for the development of children’s social development,the formation of a healthy mental state,and even the development of a child’s life.The emotional ability of 3-6-year-old children is in the immature stage.Kindergarten,as an "important environment" that affects the growth of young children,is the main base for the development of emotional education for young children and the promotion of their emotional ability.Till now,there have been many studies on the role of music in the development of individual emotions worldwide.Facing to the lack of emotional education in preschool education,this study aims to explore new ways to develop young children’s emotions through music lessons.This study takes Action Research Method as the main line and selects young children from a university’s affiliated kindergarten in Xi’an,Shaanxi Province as the object of the study to explore how to promote the emotion development of young children through the medium of music activity.First,based on the theory of emotional intelligence,the theory of understanding and expression of emotions,the theory of music teaching and the physical and mental characteristics of children,drawing lessons from existing research results,the educational programs needed in this study were formulated in terms of educational objectives,content,implementation and evaluation.Then the author started the action research in the senior class of the kindergarten.After constant reflection,innovation,induction,and summarization of teaching.By making the experiment group and control group sequentially tested,combined with the observation of the material obtained to examine the relevance and actual effect of the music emotion course medium on the development of the children’s emotional ability,this study draw the following conclusions:First,test results show that the ability of the children in the experimental class in three aspects of understanding,adjusting,and expression is significantly better than that of the control class after a series of music class experiments.There ’is a significant difference between them.Second,the results of the action research found that various forms design of music courses represented by picture books play an important role in the development of emotional ability of young ’children.It can effectively promote the overall promotion of children’s emotional ability and it is a very effective education method for developing children’s emotion realization ability.Third,test results showed that there existed significant differences in the understanding,regulation,and expression of emotional dimensions between the experiment group and the control group,indicating the correctness that the music curriculum designed and implemented through the research process can promote the development of children’s ability to understand and express their emotions.
