The Literary Interpretation Of The Story Of Xiao Shi And The Evolution Of Images

This paper is going to discuss the story about Xiaoshi and Nongyu,which is recorded in Biography of Immortals and is still popular today.In order to analyse the development and change of the story separately in test,literature and picture,this paper will be divided into three parts.The first part is going to inspect the change of these plots,and the second part will make a study about the interaction between the story and literature,including two chapters,one takes a position from poetry and verse,the other takes a perspective of novel and drama.The third part is going to find out the regulation of the interaction between the story and image art.There are five different tests about the story,recorded by Biography of Immortals,Eryishilu,Xianzhuanshixi,Biography of Fairies from Yongcheng and Lishizhenxiantidaotongjian separately.You will find the details and analyzations of these tests in Chapter 1,including the relationship between the five texts,the details of the story itself and the changes in the plot,the different views and purposes of the people who recorded these text material,and the reasons for the emergence of these difference.Chapter 2 inspects poems creation Xiaoshi and Nongyu.This story is common material in Chinese classical poetry,for example,poems titled Xiaoshi Song,Phoenix Palace Song and Phoenix song are usually pomes of the story as the theme,this chapter will around these kind of literary works,analyze the change of the meaning of the story.Chapter 3 investigates the use of the story in novels and plays,which can be split into three kinds of cases.One of them is to use the situation of the story,arrange new characters and create new plots,such as Dream back to Qin dynasty creaked by Shen Yazhi.The second is to use the characters of the story to reconstruct the characters on the basis of the original characters,create new contexts and write new stories,such as The Magic things in the Garden,Beautiful Lady Come from the Lotus City and so on.The last one is borrow the plot of the story,make them a part of a long novel,such as New Biography of Nations,Heroes from 72 Dynasties.There are also a lot of drama involving this story such as Play the Xiao in Buliding Qin,Play the Xiao to Attract Phoenixes,Riding a Phoenix riding a Dragon,Gold Warehouse and so on,but the situation in drama creation is relatively complex,this chapter is going to elaborate on the specific works,and analyzes the evolution of the story of Xiaoshi and Nongyu from the theme of the fairy to the theme of love.Chapter 4 inspects how the story described on implements image,including mural from brick tombs in Wei-jin dynasties,modelings of jade article in Tang-song dynasties and pictures from porcelain in Ming-qing dynasties.
