| Yongjia murals are folk wooden murals painted on the walls in early years of the Repulic of China,among which the Lu Zhang Taiyin Palace of Shangtang Town.Yongjia County,Jingzhou Taiyin Palace of Yantou Town and also the Diaokeng Sanguan Palace of Qiaotou Town are of the most artistic values.The subject content of Yongjia murals is dominated by drama and mythology.Those wooden murals survived through the wetclimate and man-made destruction in Jiangnan area over a hundred years,which is of great value.This thesis,by conducting field research,proceed the investigation and image analysis of the Yongjia murals,clarifiedthe art style and performance characteristics from the perspectives of topic,outline,colors,and figures.It has been found out that,compared with modern murals,though in smaller size,the content and drawing methods are much more vivid and lively.It also occupied close links with other sister arts such as traditional opera paintings in Ming and Qing Dynasty and folk lacquer painting.It has been proposed that Yongjia murals not only have historical and humanistic values,but also owns unique artistic values,which should be valued and protected as another style of Chinese murals.The research on Yongjia murals inspired the author to re-examine the importance of native art,exploring folk aesthetic consciousness and applying it to future creation in the process of understanding the history of southern Zhejiang.Lastly,Yongjia murals are contributive complement to academic learning,a very rich soil for artistic creation and also a cultural prototype from folk aesthetic. |
