On The Emotional Expression In Character Painting

In this thesis On the Expression of Emotion in Figure Paintings:Taking the Metaphor Signs in Munch's Works as an Example,it mainly emphasizes that emotion is the original vitality of paintings.During the whole creative process of a work from zero to one,emotion has been running through the whole art activity and there is an inseparable connection between the work and its subject and object.Through examining the painting languages in Munch's works,this thesis has analyzed some metaphor signs to show that the emotion inputs of the subject and the spiritual resonance of the audience.Meanwhile,by studying plenty of writings about Munch's life experience and analyzing symbolic painting languages,this thesis has illustrated the following five points:hands clasped behind back-a "bound" life,sharp angles throughout-an endless sense of pricking,figures flowing along the fluid lines-unstable hearts,covering ears-an eagerness to escape,hidden "cross"-waiting for redemption.
