| ObjectivesTo probe the clinical efectiveness of auriculotherapy with miniature Bian stone on post-PCI patients with anxiety and depression symptoms amidst clinical studies,expecting to enrich the content of psycho-cardiology and provides references for the applications and promotions of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)treatments on post-PCI psychologic recoveries.Methods1.74 post-PCI patients with anxiety and depression symptoms complied with the inclusion criteria were included in this study,and were divided into auriculotherapy group and control group in random.2.Auriculotherapy group was under conventional coronary heart disease secondary preventive medications supplemented by auriculotherapy with miniature Bian stone.Control group was under similar medications supplemented by basic psychotherapy.Both group endure 4 weeks of treatment.3.The observation index is Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Seattle Angina Questionnaire(SAQ),Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),TCM syndromes accumulative index,and safety index.The results were assessed pre-and post-therapy respectively.4.Clinical efficiency is assessed by the reduction rate of HAMA and HAMD score.5.Adverse effects observed amid trial and safety index taken pre-and post study were used to assess the safety of the therapy.Results1.74 post-PCI patients with anxiety and depression symptoms were included in this study,with 4 cases dropped out(2 in auriculotherapy group,2 in controlled group),a completion of 70 cases and a drop-out rate of 5.4%2.Auriculotherapy group demonstrated better improvements in anxiety and depressions then the controlled group.Both groups were abled to score lower in HAMA Scale after therapy(P<0.001)while auriculotherapy group was able to significantly lowered the score within the scale than the controlled group(P<0.001),total efficiency of the auriculotherapy group was 91.43%,with a 51.43%obvious curative rate.The total efficiency of the controlled group was 60%,with a 22.86%(P<0.001)obvious curative rate.Both groups were abled to score lower in HAMD Scale after therapy while auriculotherapy group was able to significantly lowered the score within the scale than the controlled group(P<0.001),total efficiency of the auriculotherapy group was 99.58%,with a 51.43%obvious curative rate.The total efficiency of the controlled group was 60%,with a 17.14%obvious curative rate(P<0.001).3.Auriculotherapy group proved better results in improvements of angina pectoris than the controlled group.Results from both groups indicated improvements(P<0.05)on the five aspects of PL(physical limitation),AS(angina stability),AF(angina frequency),TS(treatment satisfaction),DS(Disease perception).While auriculotherapy group demonstrated better outcome on PL,AS,AF,TS albeit a vague differences on DS(P>0.05)than the controlled group.4.Auriculotherapy group proved better results in improvements of sleeping quality and TCM syndromes accumulative index than the controlled group.Results from both groups on PSQI Scale and TCM syndromes accumulative scales prior therapy were improved afterwards,with a better efficiency of auriculotherapy group than the controlled group.5.Safety assessment:There were no obvious abnormalities in the two groups of participants regarding blood test,liver and kidney functions,blood cholesterol level and electrocardiogram.2 cases within the auriculotherapy group shown symptoms of skin allergy during treatments and symptoms were relieved by the replacement of normal bandage with desensitizing bandage.No other participants demonstrated adverse effect during treatments.ConclusionAuriculotherapy with miniature Bian stone is efficient in improving the emotions,angina pectoris,quality of sleep and TCM symptoms of post-PCI patients with anxiety and depression symptoms than basic psychotherapy.Auriculotherapy with miniature Bian stone proved efficiency,safety and limited adverse effects,which earn its recommendation to be applied to TCM recoveries treatments of Coronary Diseases... |
