Observation On The Curative Effect Of Jieyu Hehuan Decoction In The Treatment Of Chronic Hepatitis B Complicated With Depression

Background:Hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection,a serious health problem which has affected approximately 350 to 400 million people worldwide,should be drawn more and more attention.In fact,China is a high-incidence area of hepatitis B.Chronic hepatitis B in China is characterized by chronic,long course,recurrent attacked of liver inflammation,and then cause irreversible loss of liver function.At present,there is no specific treatment drug.The existing medicine can only inhibit virus replication and have weakness such as long course and recurrence after drug withdrawal.A great financial burden and mental stress are given to patients due to the recurrence and long course,so:that a large number of patients suffer from various psychological disorders,which are often manifested as anxiety and depression.As a consequence,it is urgently need attention that the patients suffer from chronic hepatitis B complicated with depression during the conquering of hepatitis B.Object:To explore the application of Jieyu Hehuan Decoction in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B complicated with depression,provide patients with effective TCM treatment options,and provide new ideas for future research,the clinical therapeutic effects were observed to clarify the therapeutic use of JieYu HeHuan Decoction with a before-and-after trial by comparing the SDS score,score of chronic liver disease questionnaire and score of TCM symptoms.Methods:A total of 27 patients suffer from chronic hepatitis B complicated with depression admitted to the department of hepatology were selected and treated with Jieyu Hehuan Decoction for six weeks.The SDS score?score of chronic liver disease questionnaire and score of TCM symptoms were contrasted and vital signs,tongue and pulse were recorded before and after trial to evaluate the curative effects and the safety of Jieyu Hehuan Decoction.Result:Comparing the situation of patients before and after treatment,the SDS score of patients was significantly lower than that before treatment and the difference was statistically significant.The total score and the five dimensions in abdominal symptoms(AS),fatigue(FA),activity(AC),emotional function(EF),and worry(WO)in the chronic liver disease questionnaire were significantly higher than before,and the differences were statistically significant.There was no statistical difference in the scores with the systemic symptom(SS)dimension.Scores of TCM symptoms showed that the major symptoms of liver depression including fullness of hypochondrium,emotional depression and frequently sigh were improved significantly and the total effective rate amounted to 80%.In terms of accompted symptoms,Jieyu Hehuan Decoction played a great role as well.The scores of choking sensation of chest,abdominal distension,poor appetite,fatigue,loose stools and insominia decreased significantly after treatment.There was no significant difference in belching,noisy and acid reflux,dry mouth and bitter taste.Conclusion:Jieyu Hehuan Decoction has the decreasing effects on the scores of SDS and has the increasing effects on the scores ofchronic liver disease questionnaire.Furthermore,it can significantly improve the major symptoms of liver depression and some comorbidities as well.It shows that Jieyu Hehuan Decoction has a certain effect on improving the depression status of patients with chronic viral hepatitis B complicated with depression,and can improve the quality of life of them.
