BACKGROUND:Diabetic retinopathy(DR)is a common clinical complication of diabetes and one of the seven major causes of visual impairment and blindness announced by the World Health Organization.DR takes microvascular disease as the most common pathological feature, and the formation of retinal neovascularization as the node of onset. When the DR is severe, vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachment, and severe visual impairment can be seen clinically. The course of the disease continues to progress, and even the patient's vision is completely lost.Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)is an important factor involved in the pathogenesis of DR and involved in the formation of new blood vessels, and Akt is an important upstream factor that maintains the long-term upregulation of VEGF.Therefore, clinically inhibiting the expression of Akt/VEGF pathway protein is an important way to treat diabetic neovascularization. The onset of clinical DR is hidden. When the patient has obvious visual impairment,he will choose to seek medical treatment and lose the best time to treat the disease. Therefore, this disease focuses on prevention and timely treatment.Exercise is an effective auxiliary means for preventing and treating diabetes, which can be effective Reducing the degree of impaired glucose tolerance indicates that exercise can improve insulin resistance.AIM:To explore the effect of swimming exercise on the glucose tolerance curve of diabetic model rats and the protein expression level of Akt/VEGF signaling pathway in the retina. The purpose is to prove the mechanism of swimming exercise on DR inhibition and provide experimental evidence for clinical prevention and treatment of DR.METHODS:ob/ob mice were divided into swimming exercise group and non-swimming exercise group. After 17 weeks of swimming exercise training intervention, the glucose tolerance curve of the two groups were plotted respectively, and the protein expressions of Akt and VEGF in the retina of the two groups were detected.RESULTS:ob/ob mice in swimming exercise group had a 15-min advance in glucose tolerance glucose time than non-swimming exercise group, and the curve area under glucose tolerance was smaller;ob/ob mice non-swimming exercise group had Akt and VEGF in the retina compared with swimming exercise group Protein expression level increased significantly.CONCLSION:1.Swimming exercise can advance the peak time of the glucose tolerance curve of glucose tolerance.2.Swimming can inhibit DR lesions in ob/ob mice by regulating the Akt/VEGF signaling pathway. The results of this experiment provide us with a new treatment concept for the prevention and treatment of DR.
