Health not only affects the individual's life experience and human capital accumulation, but also affects the long-term growth of the national economy.Good health can increase individual labor productivity and increase the country's economic growth rate.In modern society, vision health has become especially important as part of health.Poor eyesight not only causes potential loss to the national economy, but also affects the individual's physical and mental health and quality of life. For school-age children, poor eyesight can also affect their academic and non-academic performance.Studies have shown that the high rate of poor eyesight among primary school students is common in rural areas of China, but there is very little literature on whether the current visual health education in rural areas is related to the poor eyesight of primary school students, and whether it is related to eye habits. Therefore,it is particularly urgent to use the large sample data to study the current vision health education in rural areas and the poor eyesight rate and eye habits of primary school students. From the perspective of health economics, this paper uses measurement and statistical analysis to study the relationship between school vision health education in rural areas and students' poor eyesight and eye habits,in order to provide a policy for exploring the vision health education model suitable for schools in rural areas in western China.Suggest.Based on this, this study selected 20,594 primary school students in the fourth and fifth grades of 252 rural schools in 18 counties of A province and B province B city, and conducted questionnaires on eyesight and vision health education for students, their class teachers and principals. And use the ETDRS(Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study)eye chart to test the students' visual status. The study first described the current situation of poor eyesight, eye habits and school vision health education among primary school students in rural areas.Secondly, the OLS multiple regression method was used to analyze the correlation between school vision health education and students' eye habits and vision status.Probit regression was used to analyze the correlation between health education and students' visual status.Through descriptive and correlation analysis, the research conclusions of this study are as follows:First,29.39%(6039/20548)of the students in the western rural areas are nearsighted.Among them,18.48%(3798/20548)of the students belonged to mild myopia,7.25%(1490/20548)of the students belonged to moderate myopia, and 0.67%(137/20548)of the students belonged to severe myopia.Second, students use eye habits to be common.Nearly half of the students have the habit of reading in bed.About half of the students watch TV for more than half an hour every day.About 40%of students sit on the TV and watch TV.Third,one-third of the rural primary schools in the West do not have eye health courses or lectures.Fourth, there is no significant correlation between school vision health education and students' visual status, but students' eye habits are significantly related to vision status. Finally, based on the research conclusions and the existing literature, this study provides suggestions for further development of school vision health education:(1)develop targeted vision education courses, including appropriate curriculum forms and content, for students of different ages,Different course formats and content are used.(2)Use scientific system assessment methods to assess the effectiveness of school vision health education.(3)Carry out school vision health education work ? colbination with measures that have been validated and validated.
