Purpose: The purpose of this article is to summarize Chinese and Western medical theories on hypomenorrhea and to elaborate on Professor Chen Yiguo's experience in the treatment of “source”hypomenorrhea with acupuncture and Chinese medicine,hope to add more guidance and help for the treatment of hypomenorrhea.Methods: 1.Reviewing the literature on Chinese and Western medical sciences of hypomenorrhea and summarize them 2.Collecting examples from outpatients of Professor Chen Yiguo,then analyzing the treatment rules.Results: 1.Western medicine believes that the direct cause of hypomenorrhea is abnormalities in the genital organs or hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian disorders.Indirect factors include social and environmental factors,life factors,abuse of contraceptives,and miscarriage operations.Western medical treatment for hypomenorrhea is divided into two parts: medical treatment and surgical treatment.The common medical treatment is to have hormone or low-dose aspirin.Common surgical treatment is hysteroscopic surgery.2.Traditional Chinese medicine believes that hypomenorrhea is mainly due to lack of source,namely,lack of Qi and blood,weak organs,abnormalities of Chong and Ren.3.Professor Chen Yiguo uses self-made Siwuwuru soup to treat "source" hypomenorrhea.He follows the syndrome to increase or decrease Chinese medicine and treats the symptoms.He also advocates emphasizing the essence,treating symptoms,and applying ancient texts in acupuncture treatment.Conclusion: Professor Chen Yiguo believes that the common mechanism of hypomenorrhea is mainly the lack of source.The focus of treatment is combination of acupuncture and Chinese medicine.The clinical experience is worth learning and promoting..
