The androstane steroid was one of the most types of bioactive compounds in natural medical history.Previous pharmacological investigations promising autitumor,immunosuppresion,antifertility,and auti-acetyl cholinesterase(AchE)activities.Therefore,the androstanes have attracted much attention of chemists for the isolation,identificational bioactive assays.Our previous investigation of Epigynum auritum,which is the only specie of Epigynum distributed in China,reported a series of unprecedented audrostanes,which had significant immunosuppressive activies.As part of our ongoing studies on bioactive androstanes,the phytochemical investigation on the Epigynum cochinchinensis was studied with means of chromatographic method including MCI、C18、marcroporous resin column、sephedax LH-20 and so on.The structures of the isolated compounds was identified by various spectros techniques likes UV、IR、MS and NMR.Eight compounds were identified at last including one pinoresinol,one steroidal glycoside and six androstanes.Compound 4、5 and compound 6 are new compounds,isolated from this plant for the first time.Compound 7 is a new steroidal glycoside.The cytotoxie activies against A549、SK-BR-3、MCF-7 and HepG-2 human celllines was screened by MTT assays.The immunosuppressive activies was evaluated against ConA stimulated proliferation of mouse splenocyte in vitro.The results indicated that compound 8 showed significant anti-cytotoxic activies to Caco-2(IC50=4.01μM).Componud 6 and componud 7 were similar to existing immunosuppresion dexamethasone.
