Objective: To explore the effect of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy on the disease-free survival of colorectal cancer. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 104 patients with Stage II and III colorectal cancer who had undergone radical surgery between December31 2012 and December31 2017 in Wuhan No.4 Hospital was conducted. The patient's gender, age, site of onset, clinical stage, differentiation, chemotherapy, and length of chemotherapy were obtained by reviewing medical records, outpatient follow-up,and telephone follow-up.SPSS17.0 statistical software was used for statistical analysis.Univariate analysis was performed using the Kaplan-meier Log-Rank test, while multivariate analysis was performed using the COX regression model.Analysis of the above factors on the disease-free survival and overall survival of patients with colorectal cancer. Results: The follow-up period was 4-116 months(median 33.5 months).By the follow-up period,104 patients,34 replapsed cases,79 surviving patients, and 25 died cases included.Univariate analysis showed that the DFS were significantly higher in the 4-6 month group than in the <2 month group(68.2% vs 33.1%,P=0.004).The DFS of the N0 group was significantly higher than that of the N2 group(70.8% vs 41.1%,P=0.012).Multivariate analysis showed that chemotherapy for 4-6 months, left colon, and N0 were independent prognostic factors affecting disease-free survival in patients with colorectal cancer was made. Conclusion: Right colon cancer and lymph node metastasis are independent prognostic factors affecting CRC.Stage II and III CRC patients need to complete no less than 4 months of chemotherapy. The optimization of chemotherapy strategies for patients with stage II and stage III CRC needs to be further investigated by expanding cases and prolonging follow-up time.
