China is a country with frequent earthquakes,and the western region is the main earthquake zone.The intensity and frequency of earthquakes are high in the western region.With the implementation of the strategy developing the western region,China has built many water conservancy and hydropower projects in the western region.The seismic safety performance of reservoir pivot project is a key technical indicator for water conservancy and hydropower projects.Taking Qingtou River reservoir pivot project as an example,this paper studies the seismic design for the main buildings in the high-intensity seismic zone reservoir pivot project.According to the damage form of earthquake to hydraulic structures,the seismic measures taken in earthquake fortification,site,foundation,slope,dam type,dam height,dam material,as well as seismic stability calculation and permanent deformation calculation,anti-seismic calculation methods such as safety evaluation on anti-seepage and liquefaction discrimination for earth-rock dams are analyzed.This paper introduces Qingtou River reservoir hub project,considers the supply and demand water balance analysis on the irrigation district and the requirements for regional social and economic development,and determines the engineering tasks and scale of Qingtou River reservoir.This paper analyzes the engineering geological data of Qingtou River reservoir,including topography,stratum lithology,geological structure,hydrogeological conditions,physical geological phenomena,regional structural stability,and analyzes building materials and physical and mechanical indicators.By analyzing the obtained geological data,this paper comprehensively considers the requirements of seismic design,designs and studies Qingtou River reservoir dam.Finally,it chooses to build and utilize the reservoir in the lower dam,the dam type is determined by clay core wall weathering dam.The dam height and slope ratio are analyzed to determine whether the natural dam building materials reserves and their quality meet the requirements.Due to the existed piping and leakage problems in the dam foundation,this paper proposes a solution.In this paper,three kinds of working conditions are calculated for the downstream dam slope in the stable seepage period.Three kinds of working conditions are calculated for the upstream dam slope in the normal landing period at the reservoir water level,and the upper and lower dam slopes of the reservoir are in normal operation and the VIII grade earthquake calculation is performed.Finally,the stability calculation results show that the safety factor of the slope is greater than the allowable specification,and the demonstration results meet the requirements of the specification.The seismic treatment for Qingtou River reservoir dam has certain reference significance for the seismic design of the reservoir pivot project in the high seismic intensity zone.
