On demand of a preliminary research project,a self-adaptive flexible transmission mechanism for an auto-cannon is studied in this paper.The structure design and the dynamic characteristics analysis of the center-free joint flexible transmission scheme are conducted using the method of mathematical modeling and the technology of virtual prototyping.The feasibility of the scheme is validated.The main research content of this article includes the following aspects:(1)Based on the analysis of the existing flexible transmission mechanism,the mathematical software is used to establish the whole mathematical model of the center-free Flexible transmission guide.The transmission scheme satisfying the characteristics of the transmission module and the transmission requirement of the system are proposed according to the characteristics of the flexible transmission module.(2)On the basis of the integral mathematic model of the center-free joint flexible guidance,three-dimensional model of the center-free segmental flexible transmission module is established.In the meantime,the two-way closed linear storage-projectile transmission module and the transfer-wheel transmission module are established in the light of the transmission requirements.According to the founded models,the virtual prototyping model of three transmission modules is established using the multi-body dynamics theory.Through changing the torsion angle of the flexible body and the speed of the projectile,the dynamic characteristics of the center-free joint flexible transmission mechanism are calculated and the feasibility of the scheme is confirmed.(3)In order to ensure the reliability of the transmission mechanism,the strengths of some key parts of the center-free segment flexible transmission mechanism are analyzed by the finite element method according to its motion characteristics and the above simulation results.The reliability is verified.The paper conducted the studies of the mathematical model of the center-free segmental flexible torsion module and the dynamic characteristics of each transmission module.The work can provide a certain reference value for the design of the subsequent physical prototypes and the similar link-less transmission structures.
