Generator is an important part of power system.Especially at present,the capacity of generators in our country is increasing continuously,and its safe operation is directly related to the stability of power system.The cost of large-scale hydro-generating units is very expensive,once the economic losses caused by failure are very huge,therefore,the configuration and setting calculation of generator protection is extremely important.For the setting calculation of generator protection,the "DL/T684-2012 Relay Protection Setting Calculation Guidelines" and other standards have been published.However,there are some problems in practice,such as unclear setting calculation principles,arbitrary operation,incomplete expression of the coordination relationship between setting and setting values,easy to be solved.Result in improper setting and malfunction.In recent years,many power plants have suffered from misoperation of relay protection due to improper setting of relay protection value,which affects safety production.In this paper,the relay protection setting method of 350 MW hydro-generator in Jinghong Power Plant is studied,calculated and verified.Combined with the relevant regulations of the state and industry,the problems encountered in the field production and the requirements of anti-accident measures,the calculation method of relay protection setting for large hydro-generators and the problems needing attention are analyzed in depth,and the special topic analysis is made on the coordination of the setting of generator mistake power-on protection,loss of excitation protection and under-excitation limit function of excitation system.The requirement of setting calculation and verification method are put forward.The research can provide reference for other similar hydropower stations.
