Large and middling level hydropower character is more large generatecapability,it is a difficulttechnology problem and challenge for cosmically power transmitted from electrical source area to load center.HVDC and UHVDC transmission project is the first technologyblue print for above problem,but it well be bring new safty and stability difficulttechnology problem from HVDC and UHVDC.This paper is base on analyze hydropower layout on Lancang River drainage area,we analyzed it well be affected with China Southern Power Grid(CSG)after Miaowei hydropower operating,CSG structures after XindongUHVDC Transmission Project well be constructed,and more analyze XindongUHVDC Transmission Project`s island-mode,generator self-excitationrisk at Miaowei hydropower.Contrapose CSG`s operating character after Miaowei hydropower merge into CSG,we have study Miaowei hydropower safty and stability control strategy,about stability control strategy such as normal island-mode and abnormal-mode,divide hydropower-mode and combine hydropower-mode etc.As Miaowei hydropower safty and stability control system has self-character,we constituteexecute main station command function,localinstability shutdown generatorfunction,over-frequency shutdown generatorfunction and shutdown generator rule.And more study on Miaowei hydropower stability control strategy at UHVDC Transmission Project`s island-mode,it is validated on-site unite Xindongtest.In Island-mode,CSG safty and stability operating is base on the one anothercooperate with generator control and protection,power grid safty and stability strategy and UHVDC control system.so it is evry make sense to XindongUHVDC Transmission Project or China Southern Power Grid safty and stability operating for we study safty and stability strategy after Miaowei hydropower merge into CSG.
