The conditions of heavy duty truck are relatively poor,as an important complement of heavy duty truck,cab need to provide drivers with good security.Heavy duty truck cab is a non-load-bearing body,the front of the cab is connected assembly through front wall and frame,frame twist will cause the cab torsion,front wall surface will occur structural fracture phenomenon under repeated action.In order to meet the design life and assembly requirements,the structure needs to have sufficient strength and rigidity,but also improve the safety and reliability of driving.This paper takes front wall of the heavy duty truck cab as research object,aimed at the structural fracture phenomena in the process of driving.After analyzing the cracking reasons,it is known that stress concentration is the main factor leading to the crack.Followed by static load test to verify the reliability of the analysis results.Finally the improvement is proposed.Comparing with the original model to the feasibility of the improved scheme.The specific research contents are as follows:Firstly,in this paper,structural analysis,static analysis and failure analysis of the front of the heavy vehicle cab are carried out.And then,the cracking reasons can be raised.The solutions to problems and measures is founded.Secondly,based on the finite element theory,this paper carried out the finite element analysis on front wall under poor working conditions(four states of torsional condition,emergency braking condition and turning condition).According to the fourth intensity theory,it can be seen that the stress value under four states of torsional condition is close to the yield limit of front wall's material,and heavy duty truck has a great security risk in the process of running,in order to improve the safety of driving,the front wall structure should follow-up be improved the design.Then,in order to verify the accuracy of the finite element analysis results,this paper will use the method of simulation and experiment to set up static load test bench.Controlling the force of cab and chassis assembly simulates four states of torsional condition,then the results of the strain and process data on the integrated parameter strain gauge are read.Using computer analysis technique is accurate and reliable in comparison of finite element analysis results under the same condition.Finally,the weakness in design stage is determined according to the finite element analysis and experimental analysis results.This paper adopts the method of increasing reinforcing rib to strengthen to improve front wall structure.Then this paper use computer to analyze the improved front wall under torsional condition,it can be seen that the strength and stiffness of front wall are enhanced,so as to ensure the safety of heavy truck cab,extend product life and reduce quality problems because of front wall structural failure.
