Aluminium,as necessary in the industrial production and social life,has a pivotal role in human production and life.As the economic development and social progress,the demand for aluminum products is more and more large and the production of aluminum products also become more and more large,which causes that the industrial waste residue in the process of aluminium-the output of red mud is becoming more and more.Red mud is a kind of industrial waste residue that is produced after aluminum extracted from the creation in the process of aluminum bauxite.It is called "red mud" because of lateritic red color.With the continuous development of infrastructure construction in our country,the highway mileage increases and it consumed a large amount of earthwork in the process of highway roadbed filling,which caused a large amount of waste of high quality resources and the phenomenon of shortage of land resources.Therefore,applying a large amount of red mud to the road subgrade filling not only can realize the large-scale utilization of the red mud of industrial waste residue but also can save the high-quality land resources.This paper,based on jiqing's reform and expansion of bayer's red mud test road project,gives a feasibility study of the roadbed filling material of the bayer method in a certain aluminum plant in shandong province.The main contents include :(1)The basic physical and mechanical properties: From the perspective of engineering,analyze the physical and mechanical properties of bayer process red mud mainly including its granularity,limit moisture content,swelling,unconfined compressive strength and triaxial shear and compression feature,carrying capacity.Through analyzing the index,we can evaluation the feasibility of using bayer process red mud for the subgrade filling material.(2)Selection of the basic physical improvement agent of Bayer method red mud:through the selection of cement and CPS-12,to find the bayer method red mud improver with the best effect.(3)The physical and mechanical properties of modified bayer process red mud:based on the physical and mechanical performance test of the modified bayer process red mud,to evaluate its improved physical properties,mechanical properties,bearing capacity.Compared with the same red mud,to analysis the feasibility of the modified red mud for subgrade filling.(4)Improvement of bayer process red mud road use performance: relying on the jiqing reconstruction and improvement of bayer process red mud test road,field sampling was carried out on the improvement of bayer process red mud unconfined compressive strength and modulus of resilience,PFWD dynamic deformation modulus,FWD deflection,degree of compaction test,test was carried out on the road embankment,carries on the analysis to evaluate the quality of roadbed.
