With the development of the industry and economic,people's living standards have been significantly improved,and the demand for environmentally friendly and healthy textiles has greatly increased in recent years.Plant dyes which have good environmental compatibility are natural in origin and harmless to the human body,and have antibacterial functions.Therefore,dyeing textiles with plant dyes has great development prospects.However,the chromatogram of plant dyes is incomplete,and the dyed fabrics of have disadvantages such as of uneven dyeing,and the production of dyed yarn can make up for these shortcomings of plant dyed fibers.In recent years,the production of plant dyed loose fibers has been increasing,but the problem of poor spinnability of the fibers in the production process of dyed yarn has greatly restricted its application.In order to make the plant dyed loose fibers better used in the production of colored spinning,the reason for the poor spinnability of turmeric plant dyed modal fiber was explored,and the spinning pretreatment method to improve its spinnability was explored according to the reason.Finally,the treated fiber was tested for spinning and the spinnability was analyzed.The specific research contents and conclusions are as follows.In this paper,the reasons for the poor spinnability of turmeric plant dyed modal fiber were explored and analyzed firstly.According to the observation and analysis of the spinning process,it is inferred that an important factor that affect the spinnability is the poor surface state of the fibers.Therefore,the fiber was subjected to scanning electron microscope observation and friction and electrostatic performance tests,and the results obtained from the fiber surface elemental analysis and infrared structural characterization of the solid materials were carried out.The results show that a large amount of particulate matter adheres to the surface of the turmeric plant dyed modal fiber.The friction coefficient and mass specific resistance of the fiber are large.The above reasons lead to poor spinnability of the fiber.Elemental analysis and structural characterization of the substance indicate that the main component of the attachment is turmeric dye particles.Secondly,it is considered to remove uneven particles on the fiber surface to improve fiber spinnability according to the reasons of poor spinnability.This paper applies mechanical thrashing force to the fiber and finds that thumping can effectively remove the attachment on the surface of the fiber.According to the preliminary experiment,a scheme for removing the attachment on the surface of the fiber by mechanical thrashing combined with surfactant is designed.The effect of bath ratio,thrashing,agent type andsurfactant concentration on impurity removal is explored.The impurity removal effect is characterized by fiber surface morphology,the quality concentration of the particles,fiber quality difference,fiber color difference,fiber friction properties,fiber tensile properties,and fiber electrostatic properties.The results showed that the optimum process parameters were as follows: a bath ratio of 1:30,a thumping time of 9 minutes,and a 0.2 g/L of Peregal O solution.Then the turmeric plant dyed modal fibers treated with the optimum process parameters was used for curing,and the effect of curing on the friction and electrostatic properties of the fiber was explored.The experimental results show that after the curing treatment,the fiber is softer and smoother,and its friction coefficient and mass specific resistance have decreased.Finally,the fibers after the impurity removal treatment and curing treatment were spun,and the technological parameters of each spinning process were explored and analyzed.The results showed that the spinning process is relatively smooth,the maximum blending ratio before fiber treatment is 5%,while the pure spinning of the treated fibers is basically no problem,and the quality of the spinning single yarn is better.At present,the proportion of one kind of colored fiber in colored yarn is generally not more than 35%,so the fiber treated in this experiment can meet the normal production requirements of colored yarn.
