This paper offers a study focused on new material reconstituted wood and its application in musical instruments manufacture. We built an acoustic guitar sounding system prototype using new materials on its back and sides,in order to examine its application and performance in acoustics guitar production, and give a further review on the promotion of new material musical instruments from the market perspective.Integrated in the paper, various research methods in interdisciplinary studies, including organology, musical acoustics, psychoacoustics, mechanics, materials science, etc.,had been applied in order to analyze the performances of various materials used on acoustic guitars in comparison and further investigate the functionality and marketing of new materials by experimental analysis and questionnaires. The research can be divided into three main parts: First,in Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are the theoretical research part.Based on the material science and organology theory, the new materials and traditional materials and the standard of the manufacture of acoustic guitars are analyzed, and the performance and production of reconstituted wood are investigated further.Secondly,Chapter 3 and Chapter 3 are the experimenting parts. In Chapter 3,we discussed the production of the acoustic guitar using new materials,we analyzed the difficulties and breakthroughs in the process of production. In Chapter 4,we measured and evaluated the acoustic performance and timbre of new materials acoustics guitars using methods including spectrum measurement, overtone measurement technology, and subjective listening tests; And in the final chapter, from the perspective of manufacture and the market,we explored the promotion and application of new materials in future production of instruments.
