Brocade is one of the most sumptuous silk fabrics in China.Shu Brocade is a category of brocade produced in Sichuan Province.Owing to the superb production techniques,exquisite patterns,aesthetic implication and other characteristics,it is honored as a typical example of the classic handicrafts in Sichuan.However,the modern Shu Brocade,affected by the low efficiency of manual production,weak inheritance and protection power,poor marketing conditions and other factors,gradually began to decline.In order to strengthen the inheritance and protection of Shu Brocade,it is necessary to deepen and enrich the understanding of Shu Brocade,to further instruct the production and practice related to modern Shu Brocade,and to carry out the research on Shu Brocade,which is also of great importance.By summarizing,the author discovers that the research made by predecessors on Shu Brocade mainly focus on the perspectives of the textile skills,patterns,styles and cultural connotation of Shu Brocade with its overall development history as a thread.There are few discuss the aesthetic characteristic of Shu Brocade based on aesthetic theory.Therefore,this article selects the flourishing Shu Brocade of the Tang Dynasty,taking its pattern system as the object,and carries out the research on the aesthetic characteristics of the patterns of Shu Brocade in the Tang Dynasty in order to enrich the aesthetic cognition of Shu Brocade.This article consists of three chapters.In Chapter One,the author describes the patterns’ art form of Shu Brocade in the Tang Dynasty by classifying the subjects and contents of traditional Shu Brocade patterns and analyzing its three classic patterns of the Tang Dynasty,they are "Baoxiang Flower Pattern "," Pattern of Duke Lingyang" and "Pattern of Bending Branches,Flowers and Birds".In Chapter Two,the article applies Chinese traditional aesthetic theories,centered on subjects and contents,techniques of expression,aesthetic taste and so on,summarizes the three aesthetic characteristics of Shu Brocade patterns in the Tang Dynasty,namely taking the vitality of real world,the harmonious co-existence of various elements and innovation and change as beauty.In Chapter Three,through the analysis of the aesthetic style of the Tang Dynasty,the article makes a combination of the economic,political,technological and cultural measures and changes related to the weaving of Shu Brocade in the same period and explores the reasons why the pattern of Shu Brocade presenting the above aesthetic characteristics.Finally,according to the analysis of the aesthetic characteristics of the pattern in the Tang Dynasty,the author puts forward suggestions on the current protection and development of Shu Brocade. |
