The study of heavy quarkonium is an active field in high energy physics. In particular, its production in high energy accelerator is a subject of great concern. Therefore, the study about the heavy quarkonium production mechanism has aroused the interest of many theoretical physicists. In recent years, many experimental results have been confirmed that using photon induced interaction to study hadron physics is feasible in pp,pA and AA collision. In this article, based on the nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics(NRQCD)factorization formalism, the cross section of the inclusive process has derived and the inclusive J/? production by direct and resolved photoproduction in the ?p scattering is numerically calculated, which is in good agreement with the experimental data of total cross section distribution of heavy quarkonium production at HERA.Then we extend the formalism including the direct and resolved photoproduction processes to resolved pomeron model to study the heavy quarkonium photoproduction at the LHC energies. We present the predictions of rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of the inclusive diffractive J/?,?(2S)and ? photoproduction in pp,pPb and PbPb collisions at the LHC energies. Our numerical results indicate that the resolved photoproduction processes play an important role in the heavy quarkonium production.
