Larus saundersi and Gelochelidon nilotica are the typical wetland birds in the Yellow River Delta wetlands,Studying the distribution of heavy metals in their tissues can not only understand the heavy metal pollution in the wetlands of the Yellow River Delta and the pollution of heavy metals by wetland birds,it can also provide basic information for the biological monitoring of heavy metal pollution and the treatment of heavy metal pollution in the Yellow River Delta ecosystem.Using the graphite furnace method to determine the content of heavy metals in Larus saundersi and Gelochelidon nilotica tissues(heart, sternum, muscle, kidney, lung, intestine, liver).Differences in heavy metal content among the tissues from Larus saundersi and Gelochelidon nilotica with different ages and sexes were compared by using One-Way ANOVA and t-test,and the relationships between the elements and tissues were analyzed by using Pearson correlation test and Principal component analysis. The main results are as follows.1.The content of heavy metals between different tissues of young birds and adult birds is basically as follows: Fe>Cu>Pb>Mn>Cr>Ni>Cd.Only the adult bird 's kidney, intestine, and liver contain heavy metals: Fe>Cu>Pb>Mn>Cr>Cd>Ni.The distribution of heavy metals in young and adult tissues is as follows: Ni and Cr are mainly distributed in muscle,Pb is mainly distributed in the sternum, and Fe is mainly distributed in the liver.Cd is mainly distributed in the kidney and the intestine of young Gelochelidon nilotica,Cu is mainly in the liver of young birds and the lungs of adult birds. And Mn are mainly distributed in the liver of young birds and the sternum of adult birds.2.The content of heavy metals from high to low in all tissues of females and males is : Fe>Cu>Pb>Mn>Cr>Ni>Cd.The distribution of heavy metals in the tissues of females and males is: Ni is mainly distributed in muscle.Cu and Mn are mainly distributed in the liver.Cd is mainly distributed in the kidneys of the female Larus saundersi and the intestines and livers of the males.Cd is mainly distributed in the intestines of the Gelochelidon nilotica.Cr is mainly distributed in the muscles of females and the livers of males.Pb is mainly distributed in the breastbone of the female Larus saundersi and the intestine of the males.while in the Gelochelidon nilotica,Pb is mainly distributed in the breastbone of the females and the liver of the males.Fe is mainly distributed in the liver of female birds, the heart of Larus saundersi males and the sternum of Gelochelidon nilotica males.3.Different organizations have different accumulation capabilities for different elements. The liver, kidney, and muscle have the most accumulation of heavy metal elements among the Larus saundersi and Gelochelidon nilotica. There are differences in the content of heavy metals in tissues with age. With the increase of age,the content of heavy metals in the body increases.Different sexes have different levels of heavy metal in tissues, and some heavy metals in female and male tissues have significant differences.Depending on the species, there will also be differences in the content of heavy metals in the tissues. There are interspecies differences between the young Larus saundersi and Gelochelidon nilotica,as well as the adult birds.4.The young Larus saundersi and Gelochelidon nilotica may be mainly polluted by Mn,Cu and Fe.The adult Larus saundersi may be mainly polluted by Cr and Pb,followed by Fe,Cd and Mn.The adult Gelochelidon nilotica may be mainly polluted by Mn and Pb,followed by Fe,Cr,and Ni.
