| Gene editing technology is the most advanced life technology,which allows us to design ourselves or our offspring.Since its introduction,this technology has stirred the worries of people in all fields of the world:Will the history of Homo sapiens be replaced by "Superman"?Will man be reduced from purpose to tool?Will the socioeconomic class system be transformed into a biological class system?This article believes that various concerns about gene editing mainly come from three aspects:the religious aspect,the utilitarian aspect,and the philosophical aspect of being human.These three aspects have many legal principles.Before making various decisions on gene editing,it is necessary to conduct a legal review from the above three aspects.Through examination,this article considers that"who has the right to decide" is a key issue in the context of various values and positions playing against each other.At the same time,when making decisions,we should reflect on nationalism and liberalism and adopt a community of shared future for human and global thinking;and these decisions should be presented in the form of normative documents. |
