Over the years, for the formation mechanism and stability of large or medium-sized complex landslides,it has always been one of the focuses of geotechnical engineering research.Although a lot of previous studies have been made on it,the characteristics of landslide and its evolution mechanism have not been comprehensively and systematically understood, which makes it lack of certain theoretical guidance in terms of stability evaluation and development and evolution trend prediction. This thesis is based on the project of “investigation and feasibility research on the prevention and control project of the fork tribe landslide in shangri-la city”,and related research on the development of the fork tribe landslide. From the overall size of the landslide and the complexity of geological conditions, the landslide is a medium-sized and complex landslide.Based on the sedimentary and historical materials related to Shangri-La,the temporal and spatial distribution of regional landslides is statistically analyzed, and the understanding of the regional distribution of the fork tribe landslide is more detailed.Through the on-site geological survey and data collection, the formation mechanism and influencing factors of the fork tribe landslide were researched. The method of limit equilibrium was used to calculate the stability coefficient under different working conditions. Finally,a numerical model was built by finite element analysis software MIDAS/GTS,therefore the stability of landslide under different working conditions was analyzed from displacement distribution, principal stress distribution and plastic zone distribution. The research results obtained in this thesis are as follows:(1)The environmental geological conditions(topography, geological structure, etc.)of the landslide area were analyzed. At the same time, the geotechnical samples collected in the field were tested experimentally, and obtained the parameters of rock and soil mechanics data, which laid a foundation for the establishment of numerical models and calculations.(2)In the research of the temporal and spatial distribution of regional landslides.Through the statistical analysis of the relevant sedimentary and historical data of shangri-la city, the spatial and temporal distribution law of the landslide in the forked tribal area was researched macroscopically. The results show that the landslide in the forked tribal area has hysteresis and periodic cycle in time series, and the unbalanced distribution and the difference characteristic in the spatial distribution law presents.(3)The formation mechanism of the forked tribe landslide was researched. The landslide formation process mainly experienced two stages.(4)Under the basic characteristics of landslide, the influential factors of landslide formation were researched from both internal and external factors. The internal factors affecting the formation of landslides are mainly topography, stratum lithology and geological structure, the heavy rain is one of the important external factors that form a landslide.(5)The stability of the fork tribe landslide was researched. The stability factor of the landslide is calculated by the limit equilibrium method, and the numerical model was established by MIDAS/GTS of the finite element geotechnical simulation software. At the same time,a comprehensive analysis and evaluation about the stability of landslide were made under different working conditions.
