Network science,as a new interdiscipline, focuses on the quantitative and qualitative rules underlying complex networks.Network science is not only a natural extension of graph theory but also the innovation of system science. In the past two decades, network science achieved fruitful theoretical results forming an integrated subject structure and theoretical framework.Based on the methods and theories from network science, this project studied the throughput optimization of complex networks by modeling, theoretically analyzing and simulating. The main contributions are as follows:(1)We studied the information transmission process on the hybrid networks. We modeled the hybrid networks composed of fixed base stations and mobile users. Moreover,we proposed new strategies for the optimization of network structure and routing protocol.Meanwhile,we explore the influence of mobile users' amount and moving speed on the network throughput.(2)We studied the TTL-based information transmission on networks. In order to avoid infinite looping and forwarding of packets in networks,we assigned a TTL(Time to live)value to each data packet to limit its survival time in the network. When the packet's transmission time reaches the TTL value, the packet will be discarded. We compared the network throughput of different routing strategies, and studied the influence of TTL value on the network throughput.(3)We studied the information transmission on resource-limited networks. When the length of a queue for buffering the packets exceeds the threshold, the corresponding node will suspend to generate data packets and reduce the data processing capability. We adopted the global routing and local routing strategies respectively to the study of network throughput.Furthermore,we analyzed the influence of the network topological structure on the network throughput.
