With the advancement of the urbanization process,engineering construction is in full swing in China.The vigorous development of engineering construction is inseparable from the support of the country and the efforts of the related units of engineering construction,because employees in engineering construction are closely related to the quality,progress and safety of engineering construction.Improving the work happiness of construction workers is to improve the quality of the project,reduce the cost of the project,and improve the safety of the engineering and personnel.Therefore,it is a necessary that every building enterprise should attach great importance to improve the work happiness of construction workers.Many scholars and practitioners have recognized that employee voice,as a normal event in work place,has positive consequences for organizations.Although extensive research has explored the antecedents of voice,few have considered the potential effect of voice on the actor's work happiness.The present study developed and tested an integrative model that simultaneously examines the effect of voice(promotive voice and prohibitive voice)on work satisfaction and work emotion(positive emotion and negative emotion)and the effect of work satisfaction and work emotion on work happiness.The results from a paired sample of 258 individuals indicated that voice is positively related to work happiness through its effect of work satisfaction,positive emotion and negative emotion.Moreover,psychological safety strengthens the positive relationship between voice and positive emotion.We discuss the theoretical and practical implications of these findings.
