In recent years, with the high-speed growth of China's economy, the market of commercial health insurance in China, which is a particularly effective measure for the government to cope with aged tendency of population, relieve stress of current social insurance, and keep our society persistently harmonious and stable, has developed rapidly and continuously. The products of critical illness insurance(CII)originally stepped into China's health insurance market in 1995.Over the past 20 years, both the number of insured people and the gross value of insurance premium have increased by a large margin, contributing to enhance the public's awareness of health risks and promote all-round development of the health insurance market. However, compared with developed countries, there is still a long way to go in the insurance field, including developing our huge domestic market potential as well as improving our product design capabilities. The aim of this study is to develop a new method in the process of designing CII insurance products by introducing differentiated factors, such as economic development status, insurance period, critical illness characteristic, specific experiences, and so forth.Meanwhile,to further demonstrate the practicability of differentiated design method,an actual CII product of New China Life Insurance Co.,Ltd is used as a case with studying its sale status and term features.Based on the data analysis result and an essential understanding of insurance designation, some relative problems, including necessity, feasibility, major architectures, critical design dimensions, and horizontal business influence, are discussed in the following chapters in detail. At last,a brief analysis of CII business risk is given, followed by coping approaches.
