As a typical industry of both capital-intensive and technology-intensive,semiconductor industry has been in high maturity since it started decades ago,it's slowing down the pace of technology evolution,instead the global enterprises are focusing operational strategy on exploring internal potential,the new core-competition falls on optimizing production process and lowering down cost.China has a rising semiconductor industry,many enterprises are chasing the technology frontier with needs to learn from advanced management and decision-making model from peers all around the globe,building professional talent team,avoiding unnecessary wastes in transformation and upgrade,that's how we can build our own world class enterprises.Optimizing data supported decision-making is a key topic being attached more importance.In this thesis,I apply the theory of Data Modeling and Decision from Operation Research to study manufacturing plan of AMD company,illustrate the problems existed,and design a linear programming module to come up with a quantified optimization solution for wafer consumption plan.Beyond that,I further deploy the theory of goal programming to normalize constraints from multiple dimensions into one unified objective,to make the module more applicable to operation practice.After implementation of the optimized solution,we successfully achieve the target of reduced wafer consumption,higher operation productivity,improved cross-functional cooperation and manufacture process effeciency,also it sets a good foundation for Advanced Planning System in the future.This thesis comprise 4 chapters: first one is an introduction illustrating the background and significance of this research,introduces present situation of domestic and foreign theories.The second part is the analysis of manufacturing operation of AMD and problem identification.The third chapter is the design of linear programming module to optimize wafer consumption plan.The fourth chapter is a prototype and deliverable of goal programming module,and the accomplishments of solution.
