At present,the social economy is facing the key period of transformation and upgrading,the internal and external environment of organizational management becomes more complex,and the individual seeks more diversified development.In this context,the individual's growth and related problems of self-realization and self-growth increasingly attract the academia and society.Western theories such as self-regulation,self-monitoring and self-management have been increasingly applied to the management practice in Chinese context.But the theory from the west is easy to be "ineffective" when it is applied to the Chinese situation,and there is a lack of self-examination theory in Chinese context,so it is necessary and urgent for the development of self-aware and self-growth construct in Chinese local conditions.From the traditional Confucian thoughts of "introspection",this study digs out this gem,using qualitative research method of grounded theory to obtain relevant data from managers depth interviews,the Confucian classics,and the Confucian network text,finally get the construct of "Confucian Introspection"(CI)and its dimensions.The Confucian Introspection,is the individual pursuit of self-growth and self-progress in accordance with the gentleman(even SAGES)standard.In this process,individual pays attention to self-reflection,self-evaluation and self-education,constantly improves the ways and means of self dealing with matters,human feelings and mood,improves the process and results of self processing,human feelings and mood,and control the development of problems such as self processing,human feelings and mood.From the perspective of quantitative research,this study develops the 16 item of Confucian Introspection scale,through the pre-survey of 199 valid questionnaires and 526 valid questionnaires in large sample survey,using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis,and shows that the Confucian Introspection is composed of three dimensions of problem-oriented CI,person-oriented CI,and heart-oriented CI.In order to further verify the validity of the Confucian Introspection scale,this study selects the task performance,which the organization most concerned,examines the the validity of the Confucian Introspection and task performance.This study takes 224 full-time employees as research samples,and uses regression analysis to conduct empirical research.The results show that the three dimensions of the Confucian Introspection have significant positive effects on task performance,which shows the Confucian Introspection scale has acceptable measurement validity.This study explores the application direction of the Confucian Introspection in practical practice.For the individual,it can be based on the guidance of the Confucian Introspection,to pay attention to introspection continually.Individual's career can be divided into different parts,including the start period,the growth period and the maturity period,which can be applied Confucian Introspection differentely.For the organization,it is possible to apply the Confucian Introspection horizontally in the management practice,and it can be divided into different modules,including attach importance to the potential of the candidates,attach emphasis on the tension when training,pay attention to the employee's ability when the people are kept,and pay attention to the actual strength when they are used.
