Study On Spatial Relation And Functional Relation Of Urban Economy In The Yangtze River Economic Belt

The key of megalopolis development lies in the free flow of elements and efficient allocation of resources within regional urban agglomeration,as the result of which spatial proximity as well as complementarity and interrelation is of great importance during the construction of urban system,so as to realize the enhancement of urban spatial connection and perfection of functional relation.Spatial relation,together with functional relation,constitutes an important part of urban economy,which are interwoven in the process of local development.The Yangtze River Economic Belt is a important axis of economic development and the main battlefield for promoting the new type of urbanization and industrial gradient transfer.In the context of a new round of regional development strategy,this paper discusses the urban spatial hierarchy system and functional structure feature of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The role place and space play in economic activities and the dynamic mechanism of interaction between cities and regions are core proposition of economic geography.It is of great theoretical value and practical significance to strengthen the spatial and functional connection and optimize regional economic integration of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,having reference to cultivation and optimization of regional urban agglomeration.Therefore,in this paper,economic relation intensity and direction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,are firstly,characterized by the modified gravity model.And then economic location and urban spatial hierarchy are divided.Results show that urban spatial contact of the Yangtze River Economic Belt keeps in its early stage.The phenomenon of central polarization is fairly obvious within regional urban agglomeration,while things are different when it comes to interregional cities.There is a distinct hierarchy between the Leading City,Regional Center City,Local Central City and other important node cities in the relation network.It is presented that spatial pattern of multi-center,decentralization,locality and radial coexistence in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Besides,the direction of spatial contact shows the directivity characteristics of geographical proximity,central city direction and traffic direction.Secondly,based on the division of urban spatial hierarchy,this paper discusses the temporal evolution of urban extroverted function of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,which mainly analyzes the functional structure of the key cities including the Leading City,Regional Center City and Local Center City.It can be reached that both industrial specialization and functional specialization of the Yangtze River Economic Belt are at a low level.On the one hand,Regional Center Cities and Local Central Cities have alternately assumed major roles in regional industrial division of labor.The industry specialization level of the Leading city,with climb of urban diversity index,keeps in decrease,while industrial specialization of the Peripheral Cities has risen slowly.On the other hand,it happens frequently in most cities that the degree of manufacturing agglomeration is much higher,which is to say that the advantage of manufacturing is remarkable.Specically,management function is mainly concentrated in the Leading City,while in the Regional Center Cities and Local Center Cities,management and production function are relatively balanced.The Local Cities and Peripheral cities are embodied in much higher concentration degree of production and manufacturing sectors.In addition,comparative advantageous industries and potential advantageous industries of the cities are different,which provides the possibility for the enhancement of functional relation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Finally,on the basis of discussing the current status and influencing factors of economic ties of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,this paper puts forward the strengthening strategy of urban economic relation from the perspective of spatial relation and functional relation.
