Study On The Impact Of Urbanization Ane Technological Innovation On Economic Growth In China

In the report of the 19th session of national congress of the communist party of China,Xi Jinping proposed to construct a modern economic system with the strategic support of scientific and technological innovation.At the same time,he emphasized that urban agglomerations should be the main body,and we should build a pattern of cities that coordinates the development of large,medium and small cities and small towns in the economic construction.At present,China's economy is in the "new normal" development stage in which economic growth is slowing down and the economic driving model is shifting from the traditional factor-driven to the rapid development of innovation.Therefore,it is of vital importance to accurately grasp the mechanism of urbanization and technological innovation on economic growth in the critical period for the construction of urbanization and innovative country.Firstly,this paper combed and summarized domestic and foreign research on economic growth theory and literature.Secondly,the article relied on the regional development strategy of "four plates and three support belts" to divide the 33 provinces and cities in China,and we also analyzed the development status and intrinsic relevance of urbanization,technological innovation and economic growth from the national and regional levels respectively.Finally,this paper constructed an empirical research model based on the C-D production function,and explored the mechanism of urbanization and technological innovation on economic growth at the national and east,central,west,and northeast regions.In addition,we also examined the innovative mediating effects of urbanization on economic growth and the non-linear effects of urbanization and economic growth,and we propose policy recommendations based on the above analysis.The empirical findings for the country and the region in the paper were as follows:first,urbanization and technological innovation have significantly promoted the economic growth of the country and the regions,and urbanization has the most significant impact on the economy of central region,with an influence coefficient of 0.929.Technological innovation has the greatest effect on the economic growth of the eastern provinces,with a coefficient of elasticity of 0.324.Second,in the eastern and northeast regions where urbanization rate is relatively high,the mediating effect of innovation about urbanization has the most obvious influence on the economic growth.Third,urbanization has a significant "Inverted U-shaped" effect on the economic growth of the country and the three regions of the east,west,and northeast.Although there is such a curve relationship in the central region,the performance is not obvious.Forth,in the control variables,capital investment and the development of the tertiary industry can effectively stimulate national and regional economic growth.And the role of capital investment has been most pronounced in promoting economic growth at the western and northeastern regions.Finally,the expansion of government fiscal expenditure will promote the economic growth in the central,western,and northeast regions.
