The phenomenon of spatial agglomeration of economic growth has become an inevitable trend of regional economic development, the regional economic development is not only affected by relevant factors within the region, but also by the economic situation of adjacent regions. The allocation of production factors and spatial distribution pattern are greatly determined by economic development. The Northeast region is an important grain producing area and an traditional industrial base in China, but the economic level of each city is quite different from each other.According to the spatial structure theory, the regional economic development is a dynamics of non-equilibrium process. In order to optimize the spatial pattern of economic development in Northeast China and enhance the spatial efficiency of inter-regional economic interaction,it is necessary to give full play to the diffusion and trickle-down effects of the important growth poles in the region to the surrounding areas. So as to improve or break the original state of economic operation of the surrounding areas, and eventually promoting the regional economy to achieve a high level of coordinated development. Therefore,in view of the "new northeast phenomenon" which appears under the new normal state of economy, this paper probes into the evolution of economic differences in Northeast region, the characteristics of spatial agglomeration, the change regulation and the influencing factors. It is of great research value and realistic significance to carry out the development strategy of regional economic cooperation and revitalize the northeast traditional industrial base in an all-round way.On the basis of relevant theories, this paper analyzed the trend of economic development in Northeast region, and studied the characteristics, changing trend and influencing factors of economic spatial agglomeration in Northeast region with the analysis method of descriptive statistical analysis method, comparative analysis method, exploratory spatial data analysis, spatial regression model and geographically weighted regression model.First,on the basis of combing and summarizing the relevant literature of the regional economy and the development of the northeast traditional industrial base, this paper analyzed the spatial characteristics of the economic development of each prefecture-level city in Northeast region from 2006 to 2016.Through the descriptive statistical analysis method, the paper discussed the economic difference and change situation of the whole and local areas in Northeast region.Secondly, based on the above analysis, the spatial exploratory data analysis method was used to analyze the global and local spatial auto-correlation of cities in Northeast region.Afterwards, this paper selected the factors that had significant influence on economic spatial agglomeration in Northeast region from the industrial structure, labor force, education level, capital input, the degree of opening to the outside world and policy system, and then, constructing the explanatory variable system. And on this basis, this paper established general linear regression model, spatial auto-regressive model and geographical weighted regression model(GWR)to make an empirical analysis of the factors that have significant influence on economic spatial agglomeration in Northeast region. Finally, based on the above theoretical and empirical analysis, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions to promote the coordinated development of economy in Northeast region from six aspects.
