As one of the most famous sociologists in contemporary Western research on modernity and postmodernity,Sigmund Bauman made many incisive comments in this field that have made a significant impact worldwide and become the current The focus of discussion in the academic community,in which the general public at the bottom of society's existence is the subject of his concern from start to finish. The poor often refer to groups that lack material goods and whose basic life is unsustainable.Nowadays, capitalism,by virtue of its highly developed productivity, has greatly changed the living conditions of the proletariat. The traditional critical perspective is no longer adapted to today's capitalist society.Bauman believed that the western capitalist society has transitioned from a production society to a consumer society. The implication of poverty in the consumer society necessarily has the meaning different from that of the production society, and the poor people behave as"defective consumers." Relatively speaking, they are excluded from normal life and are no longer equal in spirit. They also feel shame and guilt. They are always at the bottom of society and can not resist the upper classes as they used to.This article analyzes the "new poor" family in detail from the aspects of work ethics, political ethics and consumer ethics, and expounds the deep social and cultural factors behind the status quo of "new poor people".From the poor to the "rich",the "labor" that Marx elaborates has undergone an essential change today, driven by the desire to consume. The coordinate system oriented by "labor dissimilation" and "consumption alienation" in the capitalist society has become a "normal person "Standard. After all,the "new poor" have finally opened their hypocritical masters under the guidance of consumer aesthetics and will always return to "work" to create their own value.
